Rock County Youth 2 Youth

"Making a difference 4 generations 2 come."

Rock County Youth 2 Youth formerly known as Rock County Tobacco Free Kids took on a new name.  The name change and focus of our organization was necessary to diversify our services to Rock County youth.

Y2Y's vision is to create a drug free community, thus improving the health of Rock County youth and residents.

Y2Y's mission is to harness the powerful influence of peer pressure - making it a positive force that encourages young people to live free of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.

We have a firm belief that you must start at the beginning and finish to the end.  This meaning the education has to start before birth to expectant parents and followed through to adults to see change.  The whole social culture must be educated to see change.

That is why our program is set up to begin very young and follow a young person many years after.  This is not a one shot program it is designed to continually send a message about substance abuse and create a behavior and environmental change for the youth involved.

There are many program areas of the Y2Y that Rock County youth can participate in, they are:

NIKE (Nicotine Is Kids Enemy) is a middle school peer advocate program.  Middle school age youth are trained to share a tobacco free message with elementary youth and to give them the tools to help someone they care about quit smoking and how to protect themselves against second hand smoke exposure.

Y2Y (Youth2Youth) is a high school peer advocate program.  Teens are educated to the harmful effects of tobacco use and underage drinking.  They also learn the manipulative techniques the tobacco and alcohol industry uses to lure them into using their deadly products.  The teens then share their knowledge with middle and high school youth and train them how to advocate for a change.

FACT (Fighting Against Corporate Tobacco) is a youth driven movement with the mission of turning the tables on corporate tobacco by exposing their lies.  Youth become involved in advocacy programs and take a stand against an industry that uses youth to make a killer of a profit.

Latino Youth2Youth is a program designed to outreach to the Latino population from ages 4 - adults.  Teen advoccates educate youth and adults about the dangers of tobacco use and how to actively get involved to make a social change in the Latino culture.

Youth Voice is a program designed to make teens aware of activities, volunteer opportunities and opportunities to use their voice within the community they live in.

Teen Maze is an interactive way to teach teens the consequences of their decisions to use tobacco, alcohol or other drugs.

TEG/NOT (Tobacco Education Group and Not On Tobacco) a teen cessation program designed to help kids quit their tobacco use.
