We all have different backgrounds, experiences, levels of income and education. Some families experience significant and/or persistent trauma in their lives, and need help responding effectively to interpersonal violence, substance dependency/abuse; stressed family relationships, and poverty itself. Family Services works to restore and enhance lives in our community through advocacy, education, counseling and case management.

While these problems are often both significant and persistent, they can be resolved for individuals and families, ultimately creating lasting changes within the community. For more than 80 years, Family Services has had the privilege of helping families in their journeys forward.

We helps solve these complex and difficult problems by providing a broad and coordinated array of services for both individuals and families. Because problems are seldom “self-contained,” we often use a team approach to help meet complex and inter-related challenges

We need your support in order to fill gaps in services due to the limitations in the funding we receive from multiple government contracts.  Indeed, most of these contracts are predicated on evidence of community support for the work we do. Your support helps us to leverage these funds; your gifts are, in a sense, the basis for access to the additional resources needed to provide high quality services to as many individuals and families as possible.

For more than 80 years, Family Services has continued to pursue its mission, in part because of the stewardship of the resources that we have been provided.  Our boards of directors have always included individuals who have significant financial experience.  (Our current treasurer, Jim Hoadley is the Regional Treasury Management Manager for Midland States Bank, our President, Lonnie Klecker, is a financial advisor with Edward Jones, our Vice President, Tammy Fanning, is a Vice President for Business Development with Blackhawk Bank.)

We believe that we are relatively unique in our ability to recognize and assess the complexity of the challenges facing the families we serve.  This approach improves our ability to design, coordinate, and deliver services that truly make an enduring difference to families and individuals.

Your support helps to ensure that we can effectively provide programs to people in vulnerable populations on issues including interpersonal violence, substance dependency/abuse; stressed family relationships, finances, and more.

Recurring gifts are particularly helpful as a means for reducing the uncertainties in providing individuals and families with longer-term services that are, of necessity, provided over extended time periods.

Family Services provides donors with various levels of recognition for their support. We also give donors feedback on the work that was funded in part by their contributions.

Don’t hesitate to let us know if circumstances or priorities change and we will take immediate action to cancel the program.
